What is a digital notice board?
A digital notice board is a screen in a shared space — a lobby, a corridor, a staff room, the entrance to a housing society — that shows the notices an organisation would otherwise print and pin up: circulars, timetables, duty rosters, results, event announcements, rules and urgent alerts. Notice board software is the dashboard behind it: the place where a notice is typed or uploaded, given a start and an end date, and published to one screen or to every screen in the building from a browser.
A paper notice board fails quietly. A notice pinned at nine is half covered by noon, last month's circular stays up because taking things down is nobody's job, and the board reaches only the people who happen to walk past that particular wall. A digital notice board shows each notice full-screen in rotation, so nothing hides behind anything else; a notice can carry an end date and removes itself when it passes; and the notice by the lift is the same notice, at the same moment, as the one in the far block. Circulars shown exactly as issued
Upload the signed PDF and the PDF app shows it page by page or as a scrolling document, so the notice on the wall is the notice that was issued, stamp and all. Shorter notices are typed into the Text app and published.
Rosters and schedules from a spreadsheet
Duty rosters, exam seating, maintenance schedules and timetables already live in a sheet. The Data Plugin renders a Google Sheet or CSV as a paginated, auto-cycling table and follows the sheet when it changes.
Notices that take themselves down
